Abstract : Bahagian pengurusan harta tanah pihak berkuasa tempatan (BPHTPBT) telah dipertanggungjawabkan bagi mengurus pelbagai jenis harta tanah milik PBT. Namun demikian, dalam kebanyakan organisasi PBT, bahagian ini telah ditubuhkan tanpa mengenengahkan suatu asas yang sama dan jelas. Malahan, peranan yang dimainkan oleh kebanyakan bahagian tersebut juga adalah tidak seragam. Ini kerana setiap BPHTPBT didapati memiliki objektif penubuhan dan fungsi yang berbeza antara satu sama lain.
